Kincardine and Communtiy Health Care Foundation

The Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation was established in 1995 as a non for profit charitable organization. The foundation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors that is committed on representing the people of Kincardine and surrounding communities.

This year, the foundation put on their annual radiothon, but made it a radiothon BQQ with Shoreline Classics at Kincardine Sobeys to raise money for the new hematology analyzer worth $91,500. Hematology analyzers are used to conduct a complete blood count(CBC), which is usually the first test requested by physicians to determine a patient’s general health status. A complete blood count includes red blood cell(RBC), white blood cell(WBC), hemoglobin and platelet counts, as well as hematocrit levels.

The importance of such a machine goes beyond its diagnostic capabilities. It symbolizes a commitment to preventive healthcare, ensuring that residents of Kincardine have access to state-of-the-art equipment that can detect and address health concerns before they escalate. Bruce Telecom’s support of this showcases the belief that everyone in the community deserves access to the best possible healthcare resources.

The Radiothon barbecue raised $98,000 in support of the Kincardine Hospital and welcomed several groups, businesses, organizations and individuals presenting donations.
